DMVAC's Luke Caldwell Competing in the Commonwealth Games
Luke made his Senior International debut running for the UK in the European Team Championships in June this year where he placed a creditable 6th. His next goal is the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, when he is competing for Scotland. Luke ran in the 5000m on Sunday 27th July and placed a very creditable 13th out of 24 in a time of 13:43:75. If he runs in the 10,000m, which is yet to be confirmed, it will be on Friday 1st August at 8:05pm.
DMVAC is a friendly athletics club which caters for all abilities, ages - and ambitions.
DMVAC U15 athletes numbers 33, 38, the girl between these two runners
and 61 representing their schools in the 2013 Schools Cross Country competition.
We participate in road running, athletics, cross country and multi-sports (cycling and swimming), providing training for sprinters through to marathon runners along with supporting activities such as circuit training.
DMVAC also has an active social calendar with a home-cooked supper after the monthly winter handicap and a BBQ in the summer on the last Thursday in the month. There is an annual barn dance and various other ad hoc social gatherings.
DMVAC has a very active Junior section with several age groups who participate in running sessions and land-based training tailored to their age and abilities.
