British Athletics Road Championships
For the first time, the DMVAC Junior squad had two runners selected to run in the British Athletics Road Championships:
Overall Elsa Palmer was 21st in 18.37 and Bea Allan was 26th in 18.50 - out of 297 runners which places them in the top 10%.
The race is divided into a Borough of London championships and a regional race. In the Borough race Elsa was 6th running for Sutton team who finished 7th of 10 Boroughs.
In the regional race Bea who was running for the South East was 26th and the South East team were 3rd of 11 regions.
A VERY BIG Well done to Elsa and Bea.
Ranmore Runs - start time 19:00 from Tuesday 30th.
Cross country running from Ranmore started on Tuesday 9th April. From Tuesday 30th April onwards the start time will be 7:00pm.
May 7th - all runners to wear their club vests please.
DMVAC is a friendly athletics club which caters for all abilities, ages - and ambitions.
DMVAC U15 athletes numbers 33, 38, the girl between these two runners
and 61 representing
their schools in the 2013 Schools Cross Country competition.
We participate in road running, athletics, cross country and multi-sports (cycling and swimming), providing training for sprinters through to marathon runners along with supporting activities such as circuit training.
DMVAC also has an active social calendar with a home-cooked supper after the monthly winter handicap and a BBQ in the summer on the last Thursday in the month. There is an annual barn dance and various other ad hoc social gatherings.
DMVAC has a very active Junior section with several age groups who participate in running sessions and land-based training tailored to their age and abilities.
