South of England Cross Country Championships - 25th January 2003 Bicton Park, Exmouth

Everyone enjoying tea and cakes after their races

This year the South of England Cross Country Championships were moved from the usual course at Parliament Hill in London to Bicton close to Exeter. The seniors sent both mens and womens team down, and they enjoyed the course in the springlike weather, round the fields in the grounds off the college.

Everyone was surprised to see Nick Hodges second after 300m before he settled down to a steady run to finish in 43:07 minutes 144th. Pat Furlong had an excellent race 48:27 350th, closely followed by Simon Pickett 49:09 389th, Rob Russell 49:15 400th, Dan Dexter 49:26 410th, Rob Steer 50:31 447th and Simon Dykes 55:09 560th.
